Coconut Husk to Reducing Sugar Conversion Using Combined Ultrasound and Surfactant Aided Subcritical Water

The first purpose of this study was to investigate the effect operating variables and surfactant concentration in subcritical water after ultrasonic process on sugar-producing yield from coconut husk. second obtain optimum condition process. sonication before done by dispersing 40 mesh husk powder at 60°C, 35 kHz. time studied comparing material crystallinity composition being treated for 30 minutes. In research, optimization using a Box-Behnken response surface methodology (RSM) experimental design with 3 factors (temperature, time, concentration). designed lower upper levels were 130°C 170°C, 40, 80 minutes, as well 1 3% (w). results showed that quadratic model predicted maximum reducing sugar be 12.0%, which achieved 77.5 2.3% SDS addition. experiment run obtained resulted 11.7%, close prediction.
